Job Description

Lead – Field Operations (Senior Manager equivalent)

Reports to:  Dave Stanton – VP of Construction

Reports:      4-5 field superintendents and a field coordinator.  Also includes overseeing 100+ union field employees delivering 75 to 100 large commercial/industrial projects a year.

Travel:         Work from office – approx. 50%, Travel to Customer & Job Sites – approx. 50% (mostly self-directed and day travel)

Summary of Role

Manage overall field activities to ensure successfully delivery of precast construction projects within Fabcon’s East region (PA, NY, NJ, VA & New England) or Central Region (OH, IN, KY & IL).  This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

 

Key Outcomes

  1. Timely Project Completion:
  • Ensure all precast construction projects are completed within the established timelines.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines.
  1. Budget Adherence:
  • Deliver projects within the allocated budget.
  • Optimize resource allocation and manage costs effectively to avoid overruns.
  1. Quality Excellence:
  • Achieve and maintain high standards of quality for all precast components and installations.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and implement corrective actions promptly.
  1. Safety Performance:
  • Maintain a zero-accident record on all project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and safety regulations (inlcuding OSHO and ISO) and promote a culture of safety among the team.
  1. Team Productivity:
  • Enhance the productivity and performance of the field operations team, using continuous improvement methods and approaches.
  • Set yearly development goals for their team members and work closely to track progress, provide support and guidance to achieving these goals.
  1. Client Satisfaction:
  • Achieve high levels of client satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing regular project updates.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  1. Problem Resolution:
  • When failures arise from the PM team, this role will have ownership in correcting course. This will require engaging with senior-level leadership and actively pursuing resolution.
  • Implement innovative solutions to prevent future challenges and improve overall project performance.

      In addition to having a track record that supports the above, top candidates possess the following:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
      • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
      • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, extensive project management and managerial experience.

      • Possess the ability to negotiate high tensity situations to drive the best results for both parties.
      • Have a high dedication to safety and personal integrity.

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Degree in engineering, business, or construction management
      • Proven experience in project management, preferably in senior manager level role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
      • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
      • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to align project management with overall organizational goals.
      • In-depth knowledge of construction management methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
      • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
